A planet in turmoil. The perfect heir needed. This birthright bestowed upon this child was heavy, prophesied long before his birth. In the early morning hours of Tuesday, August 21st, 2001, a prophecy was being fulfilled — Tatloch Mercury, the Mercurian Queen of the last five years was giving birth, blessing both King Sazantos and the planets Mars and Mercury with heirs they so desperately needed. Kaito and Akai's birth was a breath of fresh air for the two planets, and the twins first year of life was filled with more love than the universe could imagine.Until the Mercurian Thieves Guild seized planet Mercury in an attempted coup. The Mercurian War of Despair was a heavy stain on the planet's history, and the heaviness of it weighed on the Queen — though she hadn't even been born during it's time. In an effort to control the failing economics of her home, she and the first born prince, Kaito fled to Mercury under the cover of night. Interplanetary fighting had turned the planet into a war zone, and Tatloch knew there would be nothing that could save it but the perfect King. To protect her only son, she raised Kaito distantly, refusing to reveal her identity to him as he grew.Even from a young age, Kaito displayed phenomenal motor and mental skills, with an aptitude for sports and all forms of physical activity. This allowed Tatloch to raise her son with expert precision, making it easy for him to live up to his given birth name. Much to his dismay, there always comes a time where the student must surpass their teacher. The highest seat of the Thieves Guild — King — wasn't just given by birthright, it was taken by force. At seventeen, Kaito had learned all he could from Tatloch, and by customary tradition, assumed the throne by slaughtering his beloved teacher. In the last five years, Kaito — now known as King Mercury — has become widely known across the universe as one of the best diplomatic criminals the Federation has seen. His wanted posters are everywhere, but you'll never see the Phantom, not unless he wants you to, of course.
